MICROSOFT Malaysia is taking a patient approach in introducing the new licensing plan for its software. Over the coming months, there will be a series of briefing sessions for corporate customers, the first of which was held on Tuesday.

At these sessions, Microsoft managers will provide explanations on the new programme, aiming to convince customers of the benefits and getting their feedback. Due to start from October 1, the scheme called Software Assurance has already raised concern that many companies will end up paying more for software compared to now. US analysts have projected that majority of customers will be paying 33 to 107 per cent more than the current …
