Among students interested in attending the College of Charleston next year, Karen McClain is lucky. The Goose Creek High School senior already has been accepted. Many college-bound students won't be as fortunate. Applications to the College of Charleston are soaring again this year, and predictions are the number could top 12,000 by spring.
