Chrysalis-backed online radio venture Puremix.com has shut down its site and made all but four of its 30 staff redundant.
Puremix founders Keith Pringle and Ande Macpherson are to be retained by the company as creative director for music and executive producer for music respectively and will focus on developing a community-led music network based on Chrysalis's online sports network Rivals.net. The online radio site launched with much fanfare last November.
Chrysalis head of new media Lisa Bond says the move is about marrying a popular high-traffic site with a successful streaming audio product to create a stronger proposition.
