Distinguished Leaders A. P. Marshall, Lawrence Clark Powell

* Albert Prince (A. P.) Marshall, noted librarian and educator, died at home March 9 of prostate cancer. He was 86.

Marshall received a bachelor's degree in history and English from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri, in 1938, and both a bachelor's degree in library science in 1939 and a master's degree in history in 1953 from the University of Illinois.

He began his long and distinguished career in librarianship at Lincoln University, where he served as assistant librarian from 1939 to 1941. He also worked as a librarian at the State Teachers College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina (1941-1950), and university librarian at Lincoln University (1950-1969). In 1969, he …
