DOWNSIDE: I DON'T LIKE HAVING to feed it high-test. I don't like the clock and CD changer; the one in the dash of my old 1989 Nissan Pathfinder was better. I'm six-foot-three-inches tall and the '89 model's tilt-wheel was a better design.

Upside: Power. There is no need to downshift a lot, just punch it. It has comfort, room and a nice interior, and also cool things like the radio, CD and cruise control switches on the steering wheel.

Looks: I like the 2000 model better, but this one gets more looks than my friend's 2000 Crew Cab, and you don't see what it looks like when you are in the driver's seat anyway.

PETE FACCA, Anderson, Calif.

MY THOUGHTS SO FAR ARE MOSTLY POSItive. I had a Nissan before this and never had a problem, so I stuck with Nissan. I decided to go with the Crew Cab because of the extra room available. Every- thing meets or exceeds my expectations.

The power is great. Before I had to look for a hole to merge into traffic, now I make my own hole. It's got power up the wazoo. It gets looks, but I didn't buy it for that. However, I can't help noticing people doing a double take. I have yet to see another one on the road.
