We're not a bunch of overly emotional romantic fools here at AutoWeek, but we've gotten a little mushy in our fawning over the PT Cruiser. Even the toughest guy on board, as much as he hates to admit it, is enamored. There are Cruisers everywhere in our neck of the urban woods, and the aforementioned tough guy (really an ol' softie) loves driving the PT Cruiser, but hates being seen in something so cute and trendy.

We've racked up 12,000 miles at the halfway mark of our Cruiser's one-year stay with us, with lots of commuting and some travel throughout our state and Midwestern neighbors. There are rumors that a Dodge-badged awd version of this retro-styled cruiser is in the works. A saleable idea, no doubt, but we've had no complaints about the handling, even in the slush and snow, of the fwd version as it exists now.
