PENANG, Sun. - In a keenly-fought contest at the Umno Jelutong divisional delegates conference here today, leaders of the top three posts were ousted by challenger Mohd Noor Hussain and his team.

Businessman Mohd Noor ousted division chief Datuk Abdul Rashid Ismail by 17 votes. He obtained 131 votes while Abdul Rashid received 114 votes.

The third contestant, Yahaya Omar, gathered 20 votes while there were two spoilt votes.

This is Mohd Noor's second bid for the post, having lost by a mere three votes to Abdul Rashid in 1998.
