Merseyside-based firm Polymer Reprocessors became one of only 30 UK companies to be presented with the Queen's Award for Innovation last week for its CD recycling initiative.

All five UK majors have signed up to the service -- starting with EMI in July 1998 -- which was initially developed over two-and-a-half years and with 1.6m [pounds sterling] investment by the company.
