Cherokee expects qtr. income to jump 65.2% SUNLAND, Calif. (FNS) -- Boosted by what its president terms "sensational" sales gains in its XCess Baggage young men's apparel line, The Cherokee Group expects to post a 65.2 percent gain in third-quarter profits before interest and taxes, while sales are projected to climb about 14 percent.

Cherokee president and chief executive officer Robert Margolis noted increased demand for Cherokee brand products in the moderate apparel market also spurredthe anticipated results.
