The Daily Telegraph is to launch a separate sports section for everyday of the week, becoming the first broadsheet newspaper to do so.

From May 15 an eight-page, standalone supplement will appear from Tuesday to Friday in addition to the paper's existing sport supplements on Monday and Saturday. The launch will be backed by a marketing spend in the region of [pound]500,000, with TV advertising set to run on Channel 4, Sky Sports and ITV.
