There is a price to pay for each playoff round in the quest for the Stanley Cup. Buffalo Sabres hockey fans willingly pay because the Sabres, as they have done since moving to HSBC Arena five years ago, continue to sell out each postseason game.

For the second-round series with the Pittsburgh Penguins, box office prices in the nine available seating areas are: $39, $53, $64, $96, $111, $148, $154, $188. Those prices are up 50 percent -- from $13 to $63 per seat -- compared to the first-round. If the Sabres move on, ticket costs will rise with each round. Prices for the conference finals will go up 25 percent and an additional 30 percent for the finals.
