KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's economic fundamentals are stronger than perceived by many and will continue to provide the flexibility to offset adverse impacts from the US slowdown.

"Given the strong prevailing economic fundamentals, the prospects of the economy to maintain strong growth in the current year remain encouraging", according to Public Bank's monthly Economic Review.

These fundamentals, it added, would not only support the economic outlook for the year but would also contribute to the sustainability of the ringgit peg.
