S.A.'s New Century ups its stake in Princeton eCom.(New Century Equity Holdings Corp.)(Brief Article)

San Antonio-based New Century Equity Holdings Corp. recently added heavily to its wager on Princeton eCom, an online billing and bill-payment firm.

New Century -- formerly Billing Concepts Corp. -- kicked in $15 million of the $20 million that the Princeton, N.J.-based company raised in it latest financing round, which closed on April 12.

Mellon Ventures Inc., the venture-capital arm of Mellon Financial Corp., rounded out the financing package with a $5 million investment.

As part of the deal, New Century and Mellon -- both previous investors in the privately held Princeton eCom -- received notes that they can eventually convert to shares of preferred stock. …
