The floor of the cavernous Louisiana Superdome was a playground full of youthful laughter and shrieks, but Lora Wright heard none of them.
The 15-year-old North Port resident focused on the 30-foot runway before her, took a deep breath, and propelled her lithe body into the first of eight flips, one more difficult than the next.
"I kind of got messed-up and went to the side a bit during the pass," said the young perfectionist after nailing her landing. "I don't know what the judges will take off for that."
