St. Armands Circle is next on the city's list for reducing the sounds coming from nightclubs.

Monday night the Sarasota City Commission established a task force - to be comprised of St. Armands merchants, residents and city staff - to find a solution to recent noise complaints from the tourist area.

Residents have complained about loud music from the Columbia restaurant's nightclub, The Patio, and Cha Cha Cocoanuts. The businesses are owned by the Gonzmart family. The Columbia restaurant has been on St. Armands Circle since 1959.
