Every fall, public school districts across the United States designate a week in which students, teachers, parents and others join in a celebration of education.

Starting today, Manatee County's schools join in the American Education Week festivities. This year's theme is "Teaching Children to Think and Dream." And schools in every sector of the county are planning an array of events.

Today

* Palma Sola Elementary will host a breakfast for district administrators, School Board members, faculty and students, followed by a parade and courtyard assembly.

* Bashaw Elementary pupils will draw "a quilt of dreams" …
