Manatee County Schools Assistant Superintendent Sally Shuford, who began teaching here 30 years ago at Prine Elementary, quietly has decided to retire in June.
She plans to play golf and travel to her second home in North Carolina and to Iceland, where the Navy has stationed her son.
"There are many things about my job I thoroughly enjoy. I like the analytical part," Shuford said. "There are times when I got into a project that I thoroughly enjoyed myself. But once I made up my mind, all of the other things looked more and more inviting."
