Local businesses and educators propose an organic solution to finding qualified workers: grow your own.
They hope the new Business Resource Center at the Manatee Community College south campus will provide the fertile soil and its services the seeds.
The facility is designed to consolidate training, counseling and loan information for South Sarasota County companies eager to grow.
Located in Room 165 of the administrative building, the center officially opens at 1 p.m. Friday, following an annual luncheon meeting of the Venice, Englewood and North Port chambers of commerce.
