Englewood children reveled in Halloween fun this year thanks to the goodwill of the merchants of West Dearborn Street and other local groups, churches, businesses and organizations. The fun began with Friday evening's Safe Walk, when more than a thousand children paraded up and down West Dearborn Street in their favorite costumes and collected a king's ransom in candy, toys and warm greetings from the merchants, many of whom were outfitted in costumes of their own.
