A Bradenton man died Saturday after he was shot at a Ninth Avenue West bar.

Tarvin Leonard Martin, 28, was shot several times outside the 801 Bar, 720 Ninth Ave. W., at 3:11 a.m. Saturday. When Bradenton police arrived at the scene, they were met by an "extremely large crowd" and had to call Manatee County sheriff's deputies for assistance.

Martin, of 1000 block 20th St. E., died from his wounds at Manatee Memorial Hospital, police said.

The officers were able to disperse the crowd at the bar, but then had to calm a related disturbance at the hospital's emergency room, police said.
