The offer by Mumbai-based Cipla Ltd to supply a combination of three AIDS drugs at $350/y/patient to the poor patients in developing countries has pushed the company into limelight.

This move of Cipla has forced the industry majors like GlaxoSmithKline, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Merck & Co to follow suit.

A group of 39 companies decided to withdraw their court case filed in South Africa to prevent South Africa from importing cheap generic versions of their AIDS drugs.
