Despite a slump in e-business stocks, the E-Business Barometer remained steady for April. The IT Toolbox E-Business Stock Index sunk to its lowest monthly close ever, down more than 80 percent from its February 2000 peak. But there was a compensating sharp decrease in dot-com layoffs in March, even as overall corporate layoffs reached an all-time record.
