Seattle giant narrows D-FW search to buildings in Dallas, Plano, Las Colinas, brokers say
GREATER METROPLEX -- The number of possible landing sites in the Metroplex for Boeing's national headquarters has been winnowed from roughly' 25 properties to about eight, local brokers say.
Two are located in downtown Dallas, and the rest are in suburban areas.
The Seattle-based company is looking for a sizable chunk of space, said Tim Relyea, co-managing director of the Houston office of Cushman Realty, which is handling the Boeing search.
"We're' looking for 250,000 square feet to 300,000 square feet," Relyea said. "We're still reviewing. all the options."
Boeing's expected to occupy that space for two to five years, then build or buy a building for its permanent headquarters.
Boeing officials were, in Dallas last week for a first-hand look at the Metroplex properties on their short list. The aerospace giant is also considering Denver and Chicago as the site of its new corporate home.
Brokers close to the search said all the prospective sites in Dallas-Fort Worth have now been toured. The buildings believed to be under the most serious consideration are:
