The final piece in the merger between the Washington, D.C. Convention and Visitors Association and D.C. Committee to Promote Washington has fallen into place.
The two groups have chosen Bill Hanbury, former president and CEO of the Greater Milwaukee Convention & Visitors Bureau, to lead the new Washington, D.C. Convention and Tourism Corp.
"If anyone can do it, I can," says the 51-year-old Hanbury from his home in Milwaukee. "This is not rocket science. This is getting people to work together and implementing some innovative management and organizational strategies that gets this new entity to be a high-performance organization."
