The battle between Tyumen Oil (TNK) and Vladimir Potanin's Interros group for influence in Rusia Petroleum -- which holds the licence to east Siberia's giant Kovykta gas project -- has taken a new twist. The Irkutsk region arbitration court has ruled to cancel the sale of a 12.88pc stake in Rusia Petroleum by local power firm Irkutskenergo. The stake was sold to Interros earlier this year, but TNK claims that it offered a higher price (FSUE, 9 March, p8).
