In his new movie, Sly zips in and out of street traffic in a CART car-sans helmet. If you're going to do stupid things, these would be safer vehicles to drive.
Honda ACCORD LX
Price: $22,840
Engine: 3.0-liter V6, 200 hp, 195 lb-ft
Curb weight: 3236 lbs
Drivetrain: fwd, four-speed automatic
With 17,000 revs turning out over 900 horsepower to propel its 1550-pound mass at speeds up to 240 mph and gs civilians can only imagine, your average Champ car will blow the doors off of any Accord. But it's not very often one has to worry about going into a turn too hot or lifting too quickly and spinning in the Honda, either (at least not among our sensible readership). No, as one tester said, ``When you drive a Honda Accord, you know exactly what you're going to get: quiet, competent, solid, not-very-exciting transportation.'' Its smooth 3.0-liter six hums along with little fanfare, its ride is taut and it handles precisely and predictably. More than that, it's safe-no helmet required. Or as our astute tester noted: ``It just ain't very exciting.''
