On the heels of a 7.5 percent increase in passenger traffic last year -- largely due to new airlines and routes -- Oakland International Airport is expanding again this spring, adding five routes and a new airline.
Expanded service is being offered by Aloha Airlines, JetBlue Airways and Delta Airlines. Airport officials predict the new routes could increase passenger volume from its record level of 10.6 million in 2000 to well over 11 million in 2001.
