Germany VW begins the unveiling of its new range of W-type engines with the official launch of the Passat W8, which has a 4litre engine with a W-type configuration. The aim is to produce engines that give differentiation, and enable large engines to be installed in fairly short cars.
Although these may seem exciting to car buffs, they may well dent VW's image among customers.
