While many venture capitalists are hiding under their blankets, ABS Capital has made raising money during this nasty storm look like a walk in the park.

The investment firm has closed a fourth VC fund, worth more than $400 million. The Baltimore-based firm has offices in McLean, and has invested in several Washington-area companies.

Stephanie Manuel, a principal at ADS, says the company's experience and its consistent returns in a down market were keys to raising this fund.
