Cleveland, Brook Park clear way for airport expansion.

The city of Cleveland and suburban Brook Park have completed an agreement to clear the way for an expansion of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

Among changes from the initial agreement proposed in February Cleveland will purchase about 45 more acres of Brook Park, for a total of 135 acres. Cleveland now intends to purchase up to 314 homes in Brook Park over seven years.

Meanwhile, Cleveland has guaranteed the adjacent International Exposition Center which holds conventions and trade shows, will stand for 10 years. Cleveland can then choose to demolish it.
