ImClone Systems Inc. (IMCL) announced March 26, 2001, positive preclinical findings on its novel recombinant hTRPx3 protein-based melanoma vaccine.
The presentation was made at the 92nd Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).
Melanoma cells can escape immune recognition by several mechanisms, including loss of antigen expression. To overcome this obstacle, researchers at ImClone Systems developed a novel, chimeric vaccine consisting of human melanoma proteins TRP-1, TRP-2, and tyrosinase.
