The year 2012 seems very far away. Unless you plan to host the Olympic Games, that is.

The Washington/Baltimore Regional 2012 Coalition is nailing down a total financial commitment of $175 million from Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., and is preparing for an on-site visit from U.S. Olympic Committee officials this summer.

WBRC also has received feedback from USOC on its 600-page bid proposal, which it submitted in December.
