Fun Fearless Female Festivities.(periodical Cosmopolitan holds award ceremony to honour women entertainers)(Brief Article)
The color scheme was Caribbean blue. The sound effects were rolling thunder, and the theme song was "Girls Just Want to Have Fun." I'm talking about Cosmo's amazing Fun Fearless Female awards luncheon at New York City's Metropolitan Pavilion on February 29. Our group of honorees (you met them in the February issue) made everyone at the event understand exactly why we were saluting them as knockouts in the field of entertainment. I loved finally getting the chance to talk to them. Here are a few moments from the event.
Our favorite Survivor, Kelly Wiglesworth, told us backstage how she got her taste for adventure. When she was a little girl, her older siblings would throw her down the laundry chute and she'd land face first in the washing machine. (Are we surprised that white-water rafting was in her future?) After her walk down the aisle to accept her award, she was heard whispering to a guest that walking in spike heels was more treacherous than being stranded on the island with the most poisonous snakes in the world.
