PETROLEUM REVIEW: Continental prices influencing UK gas market.

Gas prices in the UK are being influenced by pricing activities in Continental Europe, according to report by independent energy consultants ILEX.

ILEX said that the impact of Continental prices affect UK via the UK-Continental Interconnector gas pipeline opened in Oct 1998.

The report said that the UK gas market is the most competitive globally, having more than 50 offshore gas producers, 60 licensed shippers, almost 30 domestic gas suppliers, and more than 60 licensed commercial and industrial suppliers.
