Programmer Winer resigns from Symantec

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Less than a month after Symantec Corp.'s desktop presentation entry reached market, Peter Winer, lead programmer on the MORE II development team, is gone.

Winer, who served as vice president of product development for Symantec's Living Videotext division here, resigned in mid-December to pursue other projects as a freelance programmer. "What I'm going to do in 1989 is make a product," Winer said.

The 30-year-old programmer had been with Symantec since the company acquired Living Videotext, developer of the popular MORE outlining program, in July 1987.
