Hemisphere's opinion of recycled paper.(Brief Article)

It was a client who introduced Hemisphere Design & Marketing Consultants to a more sustainable design outlook. Thanks to the Manchester company's quality of design work and its experience in using recycled papers, new clients have been won.

Creative director Grant Windridge says: "A major client, Marketing Manchester, has a sustainability commitment that we used as a cornerstone of its print scheme. Paper made from 100% PCW pulps are used wherever possible and vegetable inks are also used as a matter of course.

"We did a lot of research into the print characteristics of all the post-consumer waste paper stocks available around three years ago. At that time we settled on Sylvancoat from Bunzl, now sadly missed, learning from the test printings, and designing for its specific properties (pulling out the mid-range in scans to compensate for a certain amount of flattening, and so on).
