Tokyo Metropolitan Government officials on Friday raided a Tokyo petroleum company suspected of selling illegal light oil to several companies and avoiding about 200 million yen in tax payments.
Officials at the local government's Bureau of Taxation said Ebino Shokai, a company based in Tokyo's Setagaya-ku, was the linchpin in the illegal operation of light-oil production in the capital, and that the government had aimed to eradicate the oil bandits since last autumn.
