Tokyo taxation office raids bootlegger of inferior oil.

The Tokyo metropolitan government's Taxation Bureau on Friday raided a retailer of light oil, which it said had illicitly processed and sold low-quality oil and evaded about 200 million yen in tax, on suspicion of violating the Local Tax Law, metropolitan government sources said.

Officials of the bureau, which has been investigating organized evasion of the light oil delivery tax, a local tax, started searching 17 offices and facilities, including underground storage tanks, belonging to Ebino Shokai of Setagaya Ward in the morning.
