Two local artists decided to pay tribute to their leader with a revival of Soviet-era "socialist realism." One painting shows a decisive-looking Putin striding forcefully down the corridors of the Kremlin. Another has him looking snazzy in naval officer's uniform as he poses in front of a nuclear sub--presumably before the Kursk tragedy.
