2001 MAR 15 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Obese and overweight women have a significantly greater risk of experiencing problems during pregnancy, according to a study in the March 2001 issue of the American Journal of Public Health.
Compared with lean women, overweight (BMII=25-29.9) and obese women (BMI [greater than]30) are at greater risk for a host of complications and adverse outcomes, including gestational diabetes, hypertension, cesarean delivery, and premature babies.
