In its effort to focus more on customer services in different sectors, Harsch Investment Properties LLC has hired James Pate as its senior vice president of retail. Pate will be responsible for developing new retail properties and repositioning acquired properties in seven states.

Harsh owns 2 million square feet of retail space in greater Portland, including the 170,000-square-foot Canyon Road Place in Beaverton. Canyon Road is one of a half-dozen shopping centers the company is upgrading and pursuing new tenants for, said president Jordan Schnitzer.
