Our long-term Toyota Tundra carried the mail for many staffers who all found the lumbering 4x4 well-suited for a variety of needs. From carrying half an art show worth of craft supplies to a middle school to hauling home an eight-point hitetail deer, the Tundra with its full-size bed and deep crew cab was up to all tasks. It traversed four-lane freeways and backwoods two-tracks with equal aplomb.
And then it started snowing. Lots of snow. Deep snow. Drifts. Ice. Slush. We never found a need for 4wd low, but the Tundra made many a surefooted trip home to the suburban hinterlands locked into 4wd high.
