NEW YORK UNIV. PRESS Stephen D. Maikowski was appointed director. He was acting publisher of the adult and young adult trade reference divisions at Oxford University Press; prior to that he was a senior manager at Rutgers University Press for over 11 years, including 18 months as acting director. The publishing programs Maikowski has directed have published award-winning books in reference, history, politics, cultural studies and sociology. In addition, Maikowski has been chair of the marketing committee of the Association of American University Presses.
