Port of Tanjung Pelepas welcomes smart card move.

THE Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) has welcomed the move by Malaysia and Singapore to implement the smart card access which allows their citizens to enter each other's country via the Causeway without the need of a passport, saying that it may be the first step towards a free flow of containers.

The recent move towards smart cards at both sides of the Malaysia- Singapore Causeway is welcomed and perhaps the first step towards free- flow of containers, PTP chief executive officer Mohd Sidik Shaik Osman said.

This is in line with the port's move in providing high efficiency and customer-oriented processes.
