On a surprisingly crisp California morning, Ashton Kutcher goes by his favorite Hollywood coffeehouse for a huge cup of joe before heading to work on his hit television series, That '70s Show. The coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is a daily stop for the star, and with a sculpted face like Kutcher's, we wouldn't be surprised if the joint soon becomes overrun with girls wanting to share a latte with him. After all, the 22-year-old actor is handsome enough to be a model (in fact, he once was), and he still has the aw-shucks charm he cultivated growing up in Iowa. And lucky for us, we'll be seeing more of Kutcher in films like his latest comedy, Dude, Where's My Car? Here, Kutcher spills everything but his coffee. Read on to learn why he's lucky to have survived life after high school, the secret to gorgeous hair, and the reason everyone wants him to break up with his girlfriend, actress January Jones.
Q: So how much are you like Michael Kelso, your superspacey character on That '70s Show?
A: Not much. But my character in Dude is a lot like I was when I got out of high school.
Q: How is that?
A: Because I thought I knew everything but I didn't have a clue. I was smoking a lot of weed and partying, and I woke up many mornings not knowing what I'd done the night before. I played way too hard. I'm amazed I'm not dead.
Q: What was it like to grow up on a farm near Cedar Rapids?
A: Well, the worst thing was that in my town, everyone had a police scanner, and for kicks, they'd sit around and listen to who was getting in trouble. My parents knew if I'd been caught speeding before I even walked in the door.
