CEBU CITY, March 1 Asia Pulse - SEAIR was set to conduct a "probing flight" Wednesday on the Cebu-Siargao route, according to the top regional tourism official.
"Seair, together with Travelvision, a tour and travel agency, will test the Cebu-Siargao route," said Department of Tourism-7 Director Patria "Dawnie" Roa.
She said if the test flight proved successful, the airline would mount the chartered flights on a thrice-weekly basis.
Roa made these remarks on the sidelines at the opening ceremonies of the four-day Philippine International Furniture show 2001-Cebu on Tuesday.
Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte is the "surfing capital of the Philippines," she said.
Seair is an airline organized by Filipinos, Germans and Americans in 1994.
Roa said its fleet consisted of 19 to 30-seater planes.
