MANILA, March 1 Asia Pulse - Agriculture Secretary Leonardo Q. Montemayor has signed Department of Agriculture Memorandum Order (MO) No. 4 temporarily banning the import of cattle, pigs, sheep, goats and other foot and mouth disease (FMD) susceptible animals and their meat products from the United Kingdom.

The issuance of MO No. 4 was prompted by a report from the Office International des Epizooties or the World Organization for Animal Health. confirming the recent outbreak of FMD in the UK.
