MANILA, March 1 Asia Pulse - The United States-Asean Business Council is prepared to provide technical assistance and other appropriate support to the Philippines to implement measures deemed necessary in reviving the economy.
US-Asean Business Council president Ernest Bower said the group would likewise invest in various sectors of the Philippine economy once the Supreme Court resolves the questions on Arroyo administration's legitimacy.
Bower said other important consideration in investing in the Philippines is the peaceful outcome of the May elections.
"We are now assessing what sectors would likely to benefit these investments," he said.
Bower said to improve the business environment in the Philippines, the Council is urging the Arroyo administration to pass the power reform bill and the Omnibus Investment Bill.
