The growth in the Stone Oak area of North Central San Antonio is about to be propelled even faster by a new player entering the scene, Atlee Development.
Earlier this week, Atlee closed on 11.4 acres of land at Loop 1604 and Sonterra Place Blvd., just east of the Alzafar Shrine Temple, says Zachry Lee, chief financial officer of Atlec. The company bought the land from the locally based partnership Temple Sage.
Plans call for a four-phase project on the bulk of the land -- about nine acres, Lee says -- in which Atlee will develop up to four office buildings.
Each of the planned structures will be two stories and feature 40,000 square feet of office space, Lee says. Lee adds that his company will break ground on the first building in about two to three months.
The timetable for the balance of the development will depend on leasing activity in the area, Lee says. …
