WILLIAM BENNETT, the conservative political operative who positioned himself as a spokesman for American morals during many of the Clinton administration scandals, has launched a major online education initiative.

Called K12, the McLean-based Internet school will offer an online curriculum led by Bennett, the former secretary of education. The school (www.k12.com) will focus on traditional educational content and students will take tests online.
